Clegern Elementary School is a parental choice open enrollment school. No residential boundaries are assigned to our school. Any family living in the Edmond Public School District may submit an application for their children to attend Clegern. A random drawing of names fills available classroom space. Parents provide transportation to school.
Clegern is a small school with a maximum enrollment of 252 students. We are located in an older well-established area of Edmond. Rich in heritage, Clegern has served the community as an elementary school since 1931. Our goal is to provide a sound basic skills program that is complimented by Core Knowledge as the common instructional sequence of concepts presented. The Core Knowledge Sequence is a detailed outline of specific content to be taught in science, math, history, geography, language arts and fine arts. A variety of teaching approaches and methods allow us to serve the different learning styles of students. Students at Clegern learn in an environment that fosters cooperation, mutual respect, individual responsibility, success and positive self-concept.
An environment that is warm caring and supportive coupled with strong parent involvement gives the patrons and staff of the school the opportunity to say that Clegern is "Edmond's best kept little secret!"
