"Give me the splendid, silent sun."  Walt Whitman

I was born and raised in Del City, Ok and graduated from Del City High in 1970.  I went to Oklahoma Baptist University where I received a BA in English Education with a minor in history.  While I was teaching English in San Antonio, TX, I received my MA in Literature from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  I began my teaching career at Tecumseh Junior High and Tecumseh High School where I taught for 4 years before my husband and I moved to San Antonio.  We stayed there for five years, and I taught at Oliver Wendell Holmes High School in the Northside district.  We moved to Norfolk, VA, where I taught history, speech, and drama at Tabb High School.  Since the dramatic arts had been my great passion in high school, this was a chance for me to enjoy the stage once more.  My older son, Justin, was born in Virginia.  After two years there, we moved to Belleville, IL, and I taught English and speech at O'Fallon High School.  We stayed in Illinois for five years, and my younger son, Aaron, was born there.  We moved back to Oklahoma in 1992, and I have been at Edmond North since 1993.  I have been teaching AP Literature since 1998.
