FACS Class Update

All classes are now cooking! Students have made smoothies, orange julius drinks, and monkey bread. In the coming weeks, students will prepare pizza sandwiches, breakfast burritos, quesadillas, Rice Krispie treats, funnel cakes, chocolate chip cookies, waffles, and tacos. YUM!
Students have also completed the Gallon Man (measuring equivalents).
At the end of the 9 weeks, 7th and 8th grade students will take a big test over Foods/Nutrition. Test topics will include the Food Pyramid, nurtients, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, cooking vocabulary, measuring, reading recipes/labels, kitchen equipment, kitchen safety/sanitation, equivalents/abbreviations, and manners.
6th Grade ONLY: A sewing supply list was sent home on Feb.22, and supplies are due Mon, March 1. Supplies needed for 6th grade only: 1/2 yard of cotton fabric and 1 bag of polyester fiberfil stuffing. I have all other sewing supplies.
