Orvis Risner Elementary School is a wonderful school and being principal here is thrilling to me. I have over 26 years of education in many capacities, including teaching high school English, junior high science and elementary school in many grades. My experience also includes training teachers in becoming reading specialists as a Teacher Leader and being an adjunct professor in two states. I was also Director of School Support at the State Department of Education and Language Arts Coordinator and Assistant Principal in Putnam City .

I love public education and I am passionate about children learning everything they can, every day they can. I am happy you are sharing your children with us, and know that if your children are to learn well, the adults who shape their lives need to work together.

My husband Jim and I have three wonderful grown children who are all married and live in Birmingham , Alabama , Washington DC and Roseburg , Oregon . We also have a precious 4 year old granddaughter who loves to come to Oklahoma !
