This will be my 17th year of teaching and my tenth year at Summit.  I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with my degree in Learning Disabilities in 1993 and began teaching at Washington Irving before moving to Summit. I can't imagine being anywhere else!

I have been married to my husband Ray for 27 years, he is an Angiography Tech in the Cath Lab at Edmond Medical Center. We have three awesome kids; Seth, 24,  is a Marine recently home from Afghanistan; Kelsey, 23, is an OSU graduate working at Second Chance in Norman; Travis, 17, is a senior  at Santa Fe High School who plays tuba in the band and is also taking classes in Criminal Justice at Francis Tuttle. Our family enjoys lots of outdoor activities – our favorites being camping and kayaking.

Reading is my passion. My goal every year is to help students find literature they love and become more proficient readers. If you can read, you can go anywhere!

I enthusiastically believe that it is vital to teach our students ways to give back to the community – especially at this age when they tend to be a bit egocentric. My classes will be raising money for Wildcare Oklahoma, a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center in Noble, Oklahoma. Various school supplies (mostly pens, pencils & paper) will be “for sale” in my classroom and all proceeds will go directly to Wildcare. Coupon books will be sold for $5 that students can use to purchase items in 25 cent increments, or they may purchase items separately.

If you would like to provide additional support you can go to their webpage www.wildcareoklahoma.org and check out the wish list, you can help supply the classroom store or send a cash donation. Just shoot me an email and tell me how you'd like to help.

We will be learning about the animals that they rehabilitate and all sorts of fun animal trivia too! Thank you for your support!
