COUNSELORS’ CORNER……………….

Please note the times set aside for the OCCT testing at Central on the front page of this newsletter. It is SO important that your student be here every day, on time and with a good breakfast.  Do not schedule dentist, doctor or hair appointments at this time.  Be mindful of the schedule each day as this may not be the time to bring in lunches or go out for lunches.  Everybody will not test EVERY day—but somebody will be testing every day.  Test dates are April 10th to May 2nd (due to the online test).

We are still in desperate need of test monitors—NO test can be given without a monitor in the classroom—currently, we are about 80 short.  If you can donate even a couple of hours, it would be most helpful (neighbors, grandparents, friends are all welcome and needed!).

Explore  Conference for 8th grade is Friday, May 23.  This is a great opportunity for our 8th graders to explore the world of work, the preparation and the skills needed.  If you have an occupation or know of someone who would be willing to come as a speaker during these most valuable lessons, please contact Ms. DeVoe, Mrs. Spencer or Mrs. Taunton to let them know by April 21.

Central counselors visit elementary schools for 5th to 6th grade enrollment:

· Sunset & Russell Dougherty on May 5

· Clegern on May 7 (9:00 am)

· Will Rogers on May 7 (1:00 pm)

Feeder elementary schools (current 5th graders) will visit Central:

· Sunset on May 12

· Will Rogers, Russell Dougherty and Clegern on May 13

· Ida Freeman on May 14

Enrollment forms for ALL current 6th and 7th graders will be handed out by May 12 and will be due back by May 16. 

8th Grade Dates:  April 24/Spanish Writing Test, May 13/Spanish Oral Test, May 23/Explore Conference.
