School Cheer and Pom squads consist of sixteen students each on Varsity,
twelve students each on JV, and ten students each for Freshman.
Participants are selected during spring tryouts and start their "season"
as soon as school lets out in May by going off to camp, usually held at
OU or OSU. Camp teaches new skills and builds camaraderie and
confidence. The squads then practice during the summer to keep up
skills, plan new routines, and get ready for state competitions. |

| Bulldog Bash kicks off
the official season for the squads as it is their first opportunity to
show off their skills in front of students and families. Regional
and state competitions come along quickly while both cheer and pom are
busy supporting the football team in the fall. "Friday Night
Lights", Homecoming, and Senior Night all give the squads a chance to
perform at assemblies, parades, and half-times. |

| Cheer and Pom roll right
from football into the basketball and wrestling season. The squads
stay very busy, even with the games, meets and tournaments split up
among them. They celebrate their own special night at a basketball
game in January to honor the Seniors on the squads. The Cheer/Pom/Mascot
banquet in early spring can be a sentimental time for everyone. |
