College seniors who are pursuing a degree in education or special education and will be graduating in the fall of 2016 or spring of 2017 are encouraged to attend Edmond Public Schools Graduating Teachers’ Recruitment Reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the district’s Administrative Center located at 1001 W. Danforth in Edmond.

The event will give prospective educators the opportunity to network with elementary, middle and high school administrators during round-table discussions. In addition, prospective teachers will receive information about the district’s teacher orientation, peer mentoring, competitive starting salary and parental and community support.

“Edmond Public Schools prides itself on offering teachers one of the highest base salaries in the OKC metro area and ‘Smart Start’ teacher mentoring,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Randy Decker.  “We encourage individuals who are entering the education profession to attend this reception to learn more about what Edmond can provide to them.”

The evening will feature food, beverage and door prizes.
