Due to a federal waiver, the district is offering free meals to all children (18 & under) regardless of meal status. Both in school and drive-thru meals are free of charge. You may pick up one breakfast and one lunch each day. Second meals and extra items will be charged as usual. The free meal program is dependent on funding, but the USDA anticipates that it will be available through December 2020.
Even though meals are currently free, parents are encouraged to complete a free/reduced lunch application now to ensure benefits will continue without interruption when the federal waiver expires. This helps ensure the district receives its share of federal dollars and may also qualify you for additional local or federal services and amenities at a reduced price.
Anyone who completes a free/reduced lunch application for this school year by midnight on Sept. 30, will be included in a drawing for a free 50″ smart TV. Any family who already submitted an application for this school year is already entered and does not need to fill out a second application to be registered in the drawing. The winner will be selected from ALL applicants, even if they do not ultimately qualify for meal benefits. The drawing will be held in early October and the winner will be notified by phone.
