The Board of Education of Edmond Public Schools hereby announces that statutorily qualified individuals interested in running as a candidate for the #5 and #2 seats on the Edmond Board of Education may file to run as a candidate at the Oklahoma County Election Board, 4201 N. Lincoln Boulevard, from 8 a.m. to close of business December 6-8, 2021.  The election is on April 5. If three or more candidates file for each seat, a primary election will be held on February 8, 2022.  If a primary is needed and one candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, that person will be elected to the office without a need for the April election.

The term of office for Seat #2 is five years. The term of office of Seat #5 is three years. Meredith Exline served two years of the five-year term in District 5 before stepping down from the board. In November of 2021, Edmond parent Marcus Jones was appointed to fill the vacant seat until the election. Jones says he plans to run for election to the seat.
