On Tuesday, September 7,  Board of Education President Jamie Underwood and Superintendent Angela Grunewald received a letter from District 5 representative Meredith Exline announcing her resignation from the school board.

Mrs. Exline has been a tireless supporter of public education in Oklahoma and has served Edmond Public Schools with excellence since 2015. She has been a consistent voice and advocate for parent and community input.

Board Member, Meredith Exline

In her Resignation Letter, Mrs. Exline shared why she is resigning at this time.

“This is a difficult decision I do not take lightly and am fully cognizant of my timing. I value God’s calling on my life and need to be obedient to serving Him in the capacity to which he has been leading me for quite some time,” she said. “I am grateful for the last eighteen years serving our district and community via a variety of roles in our schools, state advocacy work, and as a Board Member. It has been a true blessing to serve alongside such honorable and respectable leaders.”

Mrs. Exline will remain in her position for the next 60 days or until it is filled. During that time the board will receive applications and appoint a new member to the vacant seat.

Edmond’s Board of Education consists of five members-one from each election district. Members serve a five-year term with one member’s term expiring each year. Click here to view a list of boundaries for each district.

Mrs. Exline will be missed on our Board but will remain a friend of Edmond Public Schools.
