The Oklahoma Alliance of Arts Education, in cooperation with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, annually recognizes local school administrators, school board members, and arts educators for outstanding support of arts in education.
This year, Edmond Memorial High School Orchestra Director David Koehn was one of three educators selected statewide to achieve this prestigious recognition.
“David is so deserving of this honor,” said Memorial Principal Tony Rose. “He is a passionate musician and director who works hard to ensure that his students have everything they need to be successful.”
Koehn has been with Edmond Schools since 2007. Most recently, he directed the pit orchestra for the school’s musical production of “Anastasia,” which has been nominated for four Kelli O’Hara Awards.
