Edmond Public Schools has a rich tradition of success in athletics having won more than 100 OSSAA state athletic championships! We believe that participating in athletics helps individuals learn skills and character traits such as hard work, leadership, and sportsmanship that will serve them well into their adulthood.

Student-Athletes Must Complete Forms

All students who participate in athletics are required to complete several forms. To make it easy for parents and athletes, we have gathered in one place all forms which you may fill out and submit electronically. A physical is required before participating in any sport.  Athletic physicals expire on June 30. A current OSSAA physical form is required for any participation in 2020-2021. New physicals dated after May 5, 2020, will be accepted.

If you have questions, contact your school or site athletic director for additional information.

EPS Football Fan Protocol During Covid-19

Limited Ticket Availability

The home side will have 2100 tickets for sale. They will be available through booster organizations for families of football players, band, and cheer/pom. The student body can purchase tickets at their schools during lunch. VE students may purchase tickets at the school’s finance officeduring the week of the game. Senior and faculty passes will be honored.

Social Distanced Seating Necessary

Families are invited to sit together, leaving six feet between their group and other guests. The student section will be marked by seating stickers so that each student will know where they can safely stand or sit at an appropriate distance from others.

Masks Required for Fans

EPS football fans must wear a facemask upon entering and throughout the game.

No Tailgating

To avoid the possibility of COVID exposures, there will be no tailgating before, after, or during the games.

No Students on the Field

Students are asked to stay in the stands for the entrance of the team. Fans will not be able to congregate on the field prior to or after the game. At the end of the game, football players may gather near the student section, remembering to leave a safe distance from one another.

No Outside Food or Drinks

Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the stadiums. Concession stands will be offering prepackaged snack items for sale.

No Flags or Banners

No flags or banners may be brought inside the stadium by guests. Only the school’s “touchdown flags” will be run on the field by appointed members of the student body.

Athletics Resumed June 11 with Restrictions

Edmond Public Schools, in conjunction with state agencies, physicians, and the CDC, determined that athletics could safely resume on June 11, 2020, with certain restrictions. The situation surrounding COVID-19 is fluid, and adjustments may be necessary. The safety of the district’s athletes and coaches is the top priority. Staff and athletes will be expected to monitor their health and well-being each day before attendance. Anyone who feels compromised in any way must stay home to minimize the risk to other athletes and staff. Participation in June activities is strictly voluntary, not a requirement by Edmond Public Schools.
