Today’s world is fast-paced and complex. Students who don’t have the necessary skills will not be able to compete in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven global marketplace.

That’s why in Edmond Public Schools career and college readiness begins as early as Pre-K and elementary school. Led by highly trained teachers, students receive a strong foundation in the core subjects of reading, mathematics, science, and social studies. As they mature, coursework is designed to help students master critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Teachers also emphasize creativity, innovation, collaboration, teamwork, and personal responsibility so that students develop a well-rounded skill set to help them succeed in both the academic program of their choice as well as a career beyond the classroom.

Statistics indicate that 85% of EPS students continue their education beyond high school. Of those, about 80% plan to attend a four-year college. More than 85% of EPS students take either the ACT, the SAT, or both.

Advanced Placement Program

To ensure college and career readiness, EPS offers the Advanced Placement Program, sponsored by the College Board, to 10-12th graders. Pre-AP courses are offered in grades 6-9. EPS currently offers more than thirty AP classes.
