Edmond Public Schools uses a variety of communication platforms and tools to inform parents, guardians and the community about the district’s goals, awards, events and activities.
School Messenger
School Messenger allows for messages to be sent to parents and guardians via email, text or phone recording. The emails and/or phone numbers used are those submitted by parents/guardians during enrollment. Text messages will only be sent after parents/students opt-in to receive such messages.
Text Messaging
Text messaging is an option for secondary staff, students and parents and elementary staff and parents (no students). Text messaging enhances communication by allowing us to deliver important information about school closings, safety alerts and more through our School Messenger system. The process is simple and only takes a few seconds to complete.
Steps to Subscribe:
You can participate in this free service just by sending a text message of “Opt in” (NO HYPHEN) to our schools’ shortcode number of 67587. Before subscribing you will need to ensure that the district has your current information including address and wireless number(s) in its student information database, Infinite Campus. Please log in to Infinite Campus and update your information as soon as possible. Parents/guardians who wish to participate must have a cell phone number listed in the cell phone field in their account. For each parent/guardian who has an Infinite Campus account, both accounts will need a cell number listed if both parents/guardians wish to receive text messages. By sending the correct message of “Opt in” (NO HYPHEN) you will get this message back: “You’re registered 4 SchoolMessenger notifications. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. (etc)”.
Having Problems Receiving Text Messages?
If you are not receiving text messages, check with your phone carrier to make sure that shortcode messaging is enabled. Also, please note that although the district does not charge for this service, it does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by you for receiving text messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges.
