Summit is planning a Spring Break 2027 trip to New York City, and we invite parents to join us on January 27th at 6:00pm to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
The trip will be open to students who will be in 8th grade in Spring 2027, with up to 50 student spots available. Attend the meeting to hear details about the itinerary, safety measures, cost, fundraising opportunities, and more.
*Please note: This trip is not sponsored by Edmond Public Schools. It is a teacher-sponsored opportunity, organized by educators who value learning beyond the classroom and are excited to provide this experience for our students.

Each week, we take time to recognize staff members who are living out the Heart of an Eagle through their dedication, kindness, and commitment to our students and school community. This week’s recipients consistently go above and beyond to support students, encourage their teammates, and make our school a place where everyone feels valued. We are so thankful for the heart they bring to our building every day!

We are thrilled for Mr. DeWindt to receive this well-deserved recognition! He has the heart of an Eagle, and his passion for education and dedication to his students shine through in everything he does. We couldn’t be prouder to have him representing Summit—cheering for you, Mr. DeWindt! 🦅

All of our 6th graders had a wonderful time at their Starbooks-themed Book Tasting in the Media Center! They sampled pages from old favorites and brand-new books across several exciting genres—finding stories to love and new adventures to explore.
After filling up on great reads, everyone got to relax at the Starbooks Cafe with a cozy cup of hot chocolate and a special cookie treat. We love seeing our students discover the joy of reading thanks to the creativity and dedication of our Media Center team, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Christiansen!

Students wrote an equation based on what they've learned this semester, crumpled it into a “snowball,” and had 30 seconds to toss them around. When time was up, students grabbed a snowball, solved a classmate’s equation, wrote a new one, and jumped right back into the game. Learning, movement, and lots of smiles!

Mr. Fox serves as our Head Custodian and does an excellent job ensuring our building is properly maintained, clean, and safe each and every day. One of our favorite things about Mr. Fox is his enthusiasm for dress-up days—he goes all out with each costume and always brings a smile to everyone’s face.
Thank you, Mr. Fox, for all that you do and for the pride you take in caring for our school. Please join us in congratulating him in the comments! 👏

🎉 Student Acknowledgment Series - Part 1! 🎉
Over the next several days, we’re going to share how we celebrate our Eagles when they show RISE — Respect, Inspire, Self-Control, and Equip for Success!
One way we do this is with our monthly Eagles Nest Award, selected by teachers. Winners enjoy a pizza luncheon in the library, thanks to our amazing Parent Club. 🍕🦅
Check out our October and November winners — we are so proud of these incredible students! ✨

We’re excited to share our brand-new signs that highlight our school wide expectations of R I S E: Respect, Inspire, Self-Control, and Equip for Success! These visuals help students know exactly what RISE looks like in different areas of our building, from the hallways to the lunchroom and everywhere in between.
A huge shout-out to our amazing WEB leaders who helped hang the signs and make our building shine! 🌟 Their leadership is helping our whole school RISE.
We can’t wait to see our students using these reminders to support a positive and successful school year! 📚✨

Our Student Dodgeball Tournament is coming up next week, and we can already feel the excitement building!

These staff members go above and beyond for our students every single day. Thank you for your dedication, care, and hard work. You make a difference in so many lives! ✨

Today’s the last day to sign your 6th grader up to attend the free 6th Grade Carnival—don’t miss out on this fun event hosted with help from our awesome 8th grade WEB leaders! 🎉All students must be signed up by 3 PM today, Nov. 4th, using the link in the Family Newsletter that was emailed to all families on Nov. 2nd.

We are so grateful for our incredible principals who pour themselves into making Summit the best place it can be every single day. From supporting students and teachers to creating a positive and welcoming school environment, their dedication and leadership make a huge difference in our community.
To show our appreciation, our staff surprised them with baskets of goodies earlier this month as a small way to say thank you for everything they do to guide and inspire us all. 🏫👏

In computer science class, 6th students worked together to decide if social media post examples were safe or unsafe to share. This hands-on activity helped them practice protecting their personal information online and making smart choices with technology. 👏 Families, we would like to encourage you to take some time this weekend to talk with your student about using technology safely and responsibly!

Our students show their Summit pride by being Respectful, Inspiring Others, Practicing Self-Control, and Equipping themselves for success every single day. To celebrate their efforts, we’ll have fun dress-up days next week, ending with a RISE Assembly on Halloween! 🎃🙌

Mr. Moore and Mrs. Phagan's students were busy reviewing math concepts recently with a Gallery Walk partner activity. They moved around the classroom, collaborated with partners, and explored different problems and solutions, making review interactive and fun.
