We want all students to have the same reading opportunities, even in these different circumstances. Virtual Edmond Parents- please read the link below with more information about Virtual Edmond library access!
The Frontier Media Center is dedicated to encouraging a love of reading in our students. Classes visit the media center every week to check out new books and every other week while there, they get time to read quietly after checking out books. They also get a media lesson with Mrs. Garrett every other week, which includes learning about authors, illustrators, and resources available for research. Mrs. Garrett and Mrs. Olson love sharing books with our students!
Our Media Center hosts two book fairs a year with our wonderful PTO volunteers. We love to decorate with a theme and make the book fair a big deal- because we of course love sharing new books! It is also a way for us to raise money to buy new books to add to our growing collection or to host authors to the school.
We had Scott Reington, author of Saving Fable, visit in September with our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. We planned to have local picture book author Tammi Sauer visit this April with PreK through 2nd, but will try to reschedule her for the next school year.
