Technology

The EPS Technology staff manages a vast IT infrastructure serving more than 26, 100 students and 3000 EPS staff members at approximately 30 locations.  Multiple data centers support dozens of administrative and instructional applications, a district-wide wireless network, high-bandwidth internet connectivity, and much more.

Technology in the Classroom

The district uses a wide variety of technology to enhance our curriculum and increase student engagement.  Every classroom has a projector, Smart Board, and ceiling speakers to create an interactive, audio-visual learning experience.

Computer labs, mobile device carts and – approximately 23,900 student devices in all – provide all students with opportunities to type papers, perform internet research, and use a wide variety of instructional software

Community and Parent Support

Through our bond initiatives, PTOs, and the EPS Foundation, the Edmond community has always been very supportive of our technology initiatives.

District Initiatives

We live in an exciting time for both education and technology.  The EPS staff is researching and reviewing several major initiatives that could improve and transform the experience of our teachers, students, and parents in the near future.

  • 1:1 Computing:  As part of the digital conversion we are assessing ways to provide all secondary students with personal computing devices, and all elementary classrooms with a 1:2 ratio of students to iPads.

  • Parent Portal We implemented the Infinite Campus Student Information System (SIS) which will give students and parents access to grades, attendance, and more via the internet or their smartphones.
