teachers and administrators posing with an award given to them

All Edmond Public Schools employees strive to embody four Core Values: belonging, collaboration, hope and integrity. Each month, Dr. Grunewald surprises a couple EPS employees who have been nominated for exceptionally exemplifying a Core Value.

Orvis Risner Pre-K Inclusion Teacher Alicia Dodd was nominated for COLLABORATION because she works extremely hard in service to her fellow educators to help them grow professionally. She serves on the Orvis Risner site mentor team assisting new teachers and has also served as a mentor for our student teachers and other Pre-K teachers in the district. Mrs. Dodd’s positive attitude and willingness to help others makes her an example for everyone.

Russell Dougherty 2nd Grade Teacher Paige Arter was nominated for BELONGING because of the way she works to ensure her students feel welcome at school. She has spent hours learning translation tools and preparing cards to wear all day to help one of her students who is new to the country and learning English. Ms. Arter truly cares that each of her students feels involved in her class community despite any potential barriers.
