January’s Board of Education meeting was a fun one! EPS had the opportunity to celebrate various achievements throughout the community.
All of our 2023-24 site Teachers of the Year were publicly recognized and thanked for their dedication to their students and to EPS! The 2023-24 District Teacher of the Year will be announced at the annual EDIEE Awards in April.
The fine arts were well represented as Milik Coffer was recognized for being named OkMEA's 2024 Young Music Educator of the Year. This award honors music teachers who have completed no more than five years of teaching who have demonstrated outstanding practice of music education early in their careers.
Dane Romano was also acknowledged for the OkMEA Honor Ensemble. These two will be honored at the upcoming OkMEA Winter Conference.
Finally, the Edmond Memorial Pom team was commemorated for being the OSTDTDA State Champions! This is their third year in a row to earn this award.
