Heartland Middle School 8th Grade Science Teacher Stephanie Sorenson was nominated for BELONGING. Ms. Sorenson is a first-year teacher who has already made a huge impact on her students. She is kind, approachable and has a fun-loving zest for life that her students gravitate towards. She makes sure her students know that they belong in her classroom and her students are always talking about how great she is.
Orvis Risner Elementary Media Specialist Eric Dabney was nominated for HOPE. He has created and continues to strengthen an atmosphere of hope for all students and staff members at Orvis. His positive attitude and constant smile rub off on everyone and make it so all of our students WANT to go to the library. Mr. Dabney always takes the extra effort to show everyone he truly cares about them and is an absolute ray of sunshine for everyone throughout the school.
District Marketing Specialist Arin Smith was nominated for COLLABORATION and HOPE. Since joining the EPS team last Fall, she has tirelessly worked to make sure all departments are involved in her projects, most notably with a recent revamp of our onboarding booklets for new employees. Mrs. Smith’s efforts have helped make sure the onboarding process for our newest EPS employees sets the tone for their time in the district and that they all feel welcome from the first time they walk in the door. Her hopeful, positive attitude throughout the process has been a bright spot for all involved!
