woman helping students make art

This isn't your average art camp.

Students in Linda Lyle's Recycled Art Summer Enrichment Program are discovering that everyday items they usually throw away can be transformed into beautiful creations. Almost everything used in this program is recycled. The paint is made from dried-up markers, supply holders are crafted from empty toilet paper rolls, and old cat food tins serve as paint containers.

Mrs. Lyle, an elementary art teacher in EPS with over a decade of experience, personally gathered all the supplies and has been quick to save what others might consider trash in preparation for her Summer Enrichment program. She teaches students various art techniques while emphasizing that new materials aren't necessary for artistic expression.girl posing with her butterfly creation made out of recycled materials

Mrs. Lyle shared a story about a student who brought in old gift cards, asking what could be made from them. She was proud to see the student applying the program's lessons to everyday life, reinforcing the program’s principles of creativity and sustainability.

Mrs. Lyle's Recycled Art Program goes to show that art is everywhere, sometimes all you need is a little creativity.
