Josie is shining her light! 💡📚 For her birthday this year, Josie, a student at Cross Timbers, asked friends and family to purchase or donate gently used books in place of gifts. Then, at this week's Summer School, she sorted the books and gave them to fellow students who are working on building their home library. Way to shine, Josie! ✨ #ShineYourLight

☀️ Happy first day of summer! It has been a fantastic year full of memories. Have a safe summer, we'll see your smiling faces back in August! 👋🟣

🥚🪂 The storms cleared just in time for students at Russell Dougherty to participate in the egg drop! There were some cracked eggs, several safe eggs and a whole lot of smiles! 😃
A special thanks to the Edmond Fire Department for helping out and keeping our kids safe! 🚒

🎤 John Ross is ending the school year on a high note! Teachers and staff competed in an impressive lip sync battle for students AND as a special surprise, John Ross' first ever mascot, Shadow, was the guest judge! What a treat! 🦅🕺

✈️✨ Summit's engineering class was able to be a part of quite the learning experience! Students were invited to tour an aviation facility and learn about aviation careers. They walked through hangers, talked to mechanics, and even saw the OKC Thunder plane before it took off for their next game! 🙌

👏 Keeping Heritage safe! Congratulations to Max Hathaway for being selected as the 2023-2024 Outstanding AAA School Safety Patroller! This award is only given out to two safety patrollers in Oklahoma! Max is an exceptional leader and goes above and beyond to not only keep those around him safe, but also to build relationships with everyone he interacts with on duty! Let's hear it for Max! 🚗🎉

👉 Future Police Chiefs in the making! Elementary students across the district were asked to write an essay about the changes they would make if they were the Police Chief. Edmond Police Chief, J.D. Younger, then surprised three of our students for writing the best essays! Congratulations to Merci from Frontier, Aonya from Cross Timbers and Emslie from Chisholm! These three will be honored at Heard on Hurd this Saturday and presented with an honorary Junior Police Chief Badge! 🚔👮

🏃♀️ What's the end of the school year without a field day?! Students at West Field had a blast competing in challenges and relays! It was a must for all games to be completed with a popsicle in hand. 😜

Bravo! 👏 Edmond Memorial Performing Arts was nominated for TWO Kelli O'Hara awards. Beauty and the Beast was nominated for outstanding musical and Seth Rosacker was nominated for Outstanding Actor.
